We are also supporting youth organizations that provide afterschool programs and activities for children, helping them recover and expand to serve children affected by the storm.Įmotional Support: Disasters can steal children’s sense of security, affect their health, behavior and ability to learn, and fracture their relationships for years. Save the Children continues to collaborate with early learning networks serving the most vulnerable children and families impacted by Hurricane Florence, helping restore child care and early learning centers so children get back to learning and playing with their peers – and parents can get back to work. Return to Learning: Communities cannot begin to recover after disaster until child care and early learning centers are back up and running. Save the Children is committed to providing hurricane relief in the most affected communities in southeastern and coastal North Carolina.
